Hope for America…

Hope for America!

There is hope for America if …

II Chronicles 7:14 “And My people who are called by My name humble themselves and pray and seek My face and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven, will forgive their sin and will heal their land.”

His people will need to start the revival…

How does your life stack up? It is sin to be conformed to this world’s standards and with sin comes separation from the power and blessings of Jesus!!! Being salt and light is not only not easy, but it is most often not accepted in our world.

2 Tim 3:12 “Yes, and everyone who wants to live a godly life in Christ Jesus will suffer persecution.”

The word sin is not pleasant nor is it supposed to be. It also is not just for those in the past. Sin is as ugly today and as offensive to God today as it was with Adam and Eve. If the world or the majority of our world says that in the interest of human’s rights that sin is ok, do you then accept it? Challenging question, especially with the voting season upon us. Listen to what God says;

Mark 8:36-37 “For what shall it profit a man, if he shall gain the whole world, and lose his own soul? Or what shall a man give in exchange for his soul?

Proverbs 14:12 There is a way which seems right unto a man, but the end thereof are the ways of death.”

Let us join with the Holy Spirit in urging ourselves to…

Rom 12:1,2 “I urge you, brethren, by the mercies of God, TO PRESENT YOUR BODIES a living and holy sacrifice, acceptable to God, which is your spiritual service of worship. And do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, so that you may prove what the will of God is, that which is good and acceptable and
perfect.”

The most immediate need for America is not a balanced budget or having my candidate be in office. There is a much greater need and urgency. As a believer my view and goals in life must be different then the world and country and state and city and neighborhood I live in. I do believe our nation is running to big trouble by the decisions our politicians are making but I believe our God is sovereign in the affairs of men and able to change and direct our times and events to meet His plans.

With that view my focus must be to know and love the Lord our God and be light and salt to a lost and dying world. This morning remember, serving the King of Kings may be the most meaningful thing you do in your life.

Check out the first Church in the book of Acts to see what their focus was.

With that in mind remember to ……

I Tim 2:1,2 “Therefore I exhort first of all that supplications, prayers, intercessions, and giving of thanks be made for all men, for kings and all who are in  authority, that we may lead a quiet and peaceable life in all godliness and reverence.”

Election Day Perspective…

Today is election day. I will vote for the candidate(s) who best lines up with God’s values and truths found in His word and sometimes it comes down to one issue. The important thing to remember is that our God is sovereign and allows or places into power those needing to be there for this moment in time in our world’s history. While that is comforting my responsibility remains the same.

Romans 13:1,2 “Let every soul be subject to the governing authorities. For there is no authority except from God, and the authorities that exist are appointed by God. Therefore whoever resists the authority resists the ordinance of God, and those who resist will bring judgment on themselves.”

Perspective

I do not deny the importance of this election, but it seems to me that we need a dose of perspective. So here is a “True/False” test.

True/False: The day after the election, regardless of who wins, Jesus will still be King!

True/False: The day after the election, regardless of who wins, our responsibilities as Christians will not have changed one iota.

True/False: The day after the election, regardless of who wins, the greatest agent for social change in America will still be winning the hearts and minds of men and women through the gospel, not legislation.

True/False: The day after the election, regardless of who wins, my primary citizenship will still be in this order – (1) the Kingdom of God , (2) my Family, (3) Jesus Church and everything else after that………

True/False: The day after the election, regardless of who wins, the tomb will still be empty.

True/False: The day after the election, regardless of who wins, Jesus death on the cross and His resurrection, not the government, will still be our salvation.

True/False: The day after the election, regardless of who wins, our families will still be more concerned with whether or not we spend time with them than with who is President.

True/False: The day after the election, regardless of who wins, my neighbor will still be my neighbor, and loving him/her will still be the second greatest commandment. (Do you know the first?)

True/False: The day after the election, regardless of who wins, the only way to see abortion ultimately overturned will still be winning men and women to a high view of life through the gospel of Christ.

True/False: The day after the election, regardless of who wins, the only way to see gay marriage ultimately defeated will still be sharing the biblical view of marriage through the gospel of Jesus Christ.

True/False: The day after the election, regardless of who wins, my retirement will still not match my treasure in Heaven.

True/False: The day after the election, regardless of who wins, “Jesus Is Lord” will still be the greatest truth in the Universe.

True/False: The day after the election, regardless of who wins, we will still know that God is in control.

True/False: The day after the election, regardless of who wins, I will pray for them.

And the directive for our CHRISTian lives remains the same….

Mat 28:19,20 “Go ye therefore, and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them into the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit: teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I commanded you, and lo, I am with you always, even unto the end of the world.”

Humanism or Absolute Truth from the Bible…you choose…

Joshua 24:15a “And if it seems evil unto you to serve the Lord, choose you this day whom you will serve;”

Humanism or Absolute Truth from the Bible…you choose…

Looking unto self, the author and finisher of my destiny, who for the pleasure set before me, I empowered myself, despising all those who disagree with me and I sit on my throne with confidence and pride.

“God created man in His image and man returned the favor.”

But as scripture says, let us hear the conclusion of the whole matter. Especially as God sees it because that is the only truth that counts. Man left to himself is…

Rom 3:10 “For there are none good, no, not one.”

Isaiah 64:6 “But we are all as unclean things, and all our
rightlessness’s are like filthy rags, we all fade as a leaf, and our iniquities,
like the wind have taken us away.”

You may want to delete this challenge because of the tone so far but be careful. God never tells us an untruth, so we must view all of God’s truths as just that and ask, how does this apply to me. It is tough thing to see yourself as God sees you but vital.

The good thing is that all is not lost. The fellowship with God that sin (iniquities) destroys can be restored.

II Cor 5:21 “For He has made Him to be sin for us, who knew no sin, that we might be made the righteousness of God, in Him.”

Rom 10:13 “For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord, shall be saved.”

John 5:11, 12 “And this is the record; that God has given us eternal
life, and this life is in His Son. He who has the Son has life; he who does not have the Son of God does not have life.”

So, what should be my Manifesto? The Biblical Christian Manifesto as given by our God is;

Hebrews 12:2 “Looking unto Jesus, the author and finisher of our faith, who for the joy that was set before Him, endured the cross, despising the shame, and has sat down at the right hand of the throne of God.”

It cannot be said strong enough. Either my joy and reason for living is centered on self and the philosophies of men (religion), or on Jesus. Why else would Jesus say; “If anyone will come after Me, let them deny themselves, take up their cross and follow Me” and, “I am the way, the truth and the life, no one can come unto the Father, but by Me”. In our world would view that is being ‘narrow minded’ and bigoted. And as long as it is from God, I am ok with being viewed that way. How about you? Let’s be salt and light today and not just one of the crowd.

Joshua 24:15 “And if it seem evil unto you to serve the Lord, choose you this day whom you will serve; whether the gods which your fathers served that were on the other side of the flood, or the gods of the Amorites, in whose land you dwell: but as for me and my house, we will serve the Lord.

Just put your community in place of the Amorites. It’s real and applies to you and me! The choice on who and what I will serve is all up to us. So…………….

Have a great day following the King of Kings and Lord of Lords, Jesus!!!!!!!!!!

Are You a Veteran of the Real War…

Are You a Veteran of the real war….?

Eph 6:12,13a “For we do not wrestle against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this age, against spiritual hosts of wickedness in the heavenly places. Therefore take up the whole armor of God…”

Our country went through declared and undeclared wars that many did not and still do not either agree with or understand. Wars such as WW1, WW2, Vietnam conflict, Korean conflict, Gulf war, Iraq, Afghanistan, etc. Some were never declared wars so they were fought without using all the means at our disposal to end them. None the less hundreds of thousands of military men and women blindly obeyed for the benefit of their country and many have lost their lives for our country.

These brave men and women fought the fight willingly taking it by faith that it was their duty and obligation. They did not read the constitution and then decide to enlist. Most blindly enlisted and for the most part did what were told to do. Men and women put their lives on the line and lost their lives.

Were you one of them who served? Did you fight a war without even understanding it? Think of it, people putting their lives on the line for something called country and duty. Why is it so easy to accept the demands of a nation while ignoring the offer of a Savior?

Some of it has to do with the cold war that is on for souls. The enemy has many blinded into believing his doctrines.  The battle cry of the rulers of darkness controlling this world is to get people to believe that church affiliation and their life style if good enough and will give them the opportunity to get to heaven. Then satan plants doubts like having us believe that hell is not real. Or he gets them believing in self and materialism as their purpose for the years we spend on this earth which becomes our religion.

2 Corinthians 4:3,4 “But even if our gospel is veiled, it is veiled to those who are perishing, 4 whose minds the god of this age has blinded, who do not believe, lest the light of the gospel of the glory of Christ, who is the image of God, should shine on them.”

The good news is that the constitution that will never change, the Bible, holds the truth and is as relevant today as it was the day it was put on paper and is available to all. It alone gives us the answer to life and all the vital questions for how to live it and where our eternity will be.

James 4:14 “whereas you do not know what will happen tomorrow. For what is your life? It is even a vapor that appears for a little time and then vanishes away.”

The good news and battle cry of Jesus is that heaven is for real. Our average life span on this earth is 75-80 years. How short that is compared to eternity. And the good news says that His soldiers will spend eternity with Him in heaven, our future home. Yes, most whom take up Jesus cause will suffer, and some will even die for their Savior.

2 Timothy 3:12-15 “Yes, and all who desire to live godly in Christ Jesus will suffer persecution. 13 But evil men and impostors will grow worse and worse, deceiving and being deceived. 14 But you must continue in the things which you have learned and been assured of, knowing from whom you have learned them, 15 and that from childhood you have known the Holy Scriptures, which are able to make you wise for salvation through faith which is in Christ Jesus.”

Jesus proclaims that He came to earth, lived the only sinless life ever lived because He was and is God, died for our sins, was buried and rose the third day. Today, Jesus sits at the right hand of the throne of God and makes intercession for sinners such as those of us who will accept His sacrifice for our sins and deny our ability to attain it through any other means. He is our Supreme Commander. No church, no person, no saint can do that for us.

We must simply believe and blindly obey like good soldiers. It’s called faith. Is it really easier to trust a military recruiter than Jesus?  Only a small minority, according to scripture, will trust in Jesus. How sad!

The Gospel is great news for the veteran and for everyone else. All can be a veteran of God’s war. Unfortunately most are not. The cold war for the souls of men, women and children continues today. As a believer, will you allow satan to win the war for souls because you are not willing to leave your comfort zone and tell someone about Jesus??????

Some day each of us will stand in front of our Supreme Commander, Jesus. Oh, to be a veteran of the real cold war and to hear; ‘well done, thy good and faithful servant’.

Rom 14:11-12 “For it is written, As I live, saith the Lord, to me every knee shall bow, And every tongue shall confess to God.  So, then each one of us shall give account of himself to God.”

And most importantly are you a member of God’s army???????????????????

It’s not to late to enlist!!!!

Here is how to enlist!

Jesus said; John 14:6 ‘I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to Father except through Me.’

Romans 10:13 ‘For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord, shall be saved.”

Pure truth from God’s word that no adversary can delete. The end of the battle has already been determined.  I’ve read the book, the Bible, and it says!

The Good news…

JESUS AND HIS ARMY WIN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

God’s will for your Life…

II Peter 3:18 “But grow in the grace and in the knowledge of our Lord
Jesus Christ…”

 God’s will for your Life….

A new Christian was walking with a more mature friend in a garden one
day and feeling a bit insecure about God’s will for his life, he inquired what
he should do.  His friend walked up to a rosebush, handed him a rosebud,
and told him to open it without tearing off any petals.

The new Christian looked in disbelief at his friend and tried to figure out
what a rosebud could possibly have to do with his wanting to know the
WILL OF GOD for his life But because of his high respect for his friend
proceeded to TRY to unfold the rose, while keeping every petal intact…It
wasn’t long before he realized how impossible it was to do so.

Noticing the younger Christian’s inability to unfold the rosebud while
keeping it intact, his friend began to recite the following poem…

It is only a tiny rosebud,
A flower of GOD’s design;
But I cannot unfold the petals
With these clumsy hands of mine.

The secret of unfolding flowers
is not known to such as I.
GOD opens this flower so sweetly,
when in my hands they fade and die.

If I cannot unfold a rosebud,
This flower of GOD’s design,
Then how can I think I have wisdom
To unfold this life of mine?

So I’ll trust in Him for His leading
each moment of every day.
I will look to him for His guidance
each step of the pilgrim way.

The pathway that lies before me,
only my Heavenly Father knows.
I’ll trust Him to unfold the moments, just as He unfolds the rose.

How strong is your faith this morning????????? I know mine is being
developed daily by my Savior, Jesus. Good thing, for by myself I would
fail miserably.

II Peter 3:18 “But grow in the grace and in the knowledge of our
Lord Jesus Christ to Him be the glory both now and forever, amen.”

Are you ready, Jesus is coming a 2nd time…

I Thes 1:7-9 “…the Lord Jesus shall be revealed from Heaven with His mighty angels; in flaming fire taking vengeance on them that do not know God and who do not obey the Gospel of our Lord Jesus Christ, who shall be punished with everlasting destruction from the presence of the Lord and from the Glory of His power.”

Are you ready, Jesus is coming a 2nd time!

The Lord is coming,
All eyes shall see,
and most shall ask,
“Who art thee?”

Their knees shall buckle,
and down they’ll go,
upon their face,
so their sin won’t show.

‘My Lord, O’ God!
What is my lot?”
And he shall answer
“Your Lord, I am not!

Depart from me,
Foul creature of sin your
place is Hell,
Licking dust from your chin.

You sought me not,
though I gave you life.
Now make your way to
eternal strife.

Look in the mirror,
my words of truth,
Reveal the horror
of your misspent youth.

You hardened your heart,
growing ugly inside;
your grotesque appearance,
No longer can hide.

Join the damned,
Licking wounds for your thirst!!
Wretched being,
now listen first.

I gave you a chance-
Tenfold and more,
But you wouldn’t listen-
Just chose to ignore.

I sent you a beggar,
with his hand out for food,
but you spit in his face
and treated him rude.

So, I sent you a preacher to
share the good news,
but you slammed the door
and said I refuse!

Then I sent you a child
to tug at your heart;
you couldn’t be bothered,
so you tore him apart!!

I gave you a dream
a nightmare of Hell;
you just rolled over.
Refusing to yell.

I came as your Savior,
and said, ‘friend prepare’
And then you did it-
You said, ‘I don’t care!’

Now the end is here;
you’ve had your chance,
Reflect on your life-
Here it is in a glance.

You see! You’re guilty!
Just yourself to blame!
But you could’ve avoided
the eternal flame!

No one is perfect-
Least of all you;
If only you cared,
that I died for you.

Rom 3:10 “For there are none good, no, not one.”

The beauty is that our God did not leave us to the results of our sin or eternal loss.

He….

John 3:16 “For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son,
that whosoever believes on Him, should not perish, but have life everlasting.”

Choose you this Day…

Joshua 24:15a “And if it seem evil unto you to serve the Lord, choose you this day
whom you will serve; …”

Choose you this Day!

Questions and comments, we hear daily from others and sometimes from within.

How can I achieve a higher salary?
How do I increase my 401K?

How can I get that perfect body?
Can I achieve the status of being a millionaire?

Why is this happening to me? I deserve more…
How do I get that really fancy new car?
Why can’t I have a new 4,000 sq. ft home in the secluded woods on 30 acres next to my own lake?
When should I sell and when should I buy?
Is life really all about possessions and self?
So what are my goals in life for me and for my family?

Choose you this day as to whom you will serve…! God does remind us what items have eternal significance.

Mat 6:19-21,24 “Do not lay up for yourselves treasures on earth where moth and rust destroy and where thieves break in & steal; but lay up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where neither moth nor rust destroy and where thieves do not break in & steal. FOR WHERE YOUR TREASURE IS THERE YOUR HEART WILL BE ALSO. NO ONE CAN SERVE TWO MASTERS; for either he will hate the one and love the other, or else he will be loyal to the one and despise the other. You cannot serve God and money.”

How about some questions pleasing to God?

What must I do to be saved?
How can I help someone who is struggling today?
How can I help someone to see Jesus today?

Lord, thank you for this difficulty I am going through for you to teach me that trials bring spiritual growth!
Lord, what would You have me to do for your glory?????

Our example for setting life priorities is Jesus.

Luke 22:42 “Saying, Father, if thou be willing, remove this cup from me: nevertheless, not my will, but thine, be done.”

Having nice things in and of itself is not wrong. Letting things or money be your controlling focus can only cause heartache in the long run and is out of line with God’s will for our lives. Letting God’s priorities be your focus provides peace and contentment that our world cannot understand.

Phil 4:6, 7 “do not be anxious about anything, but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known to God. And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.”

So, where are your priorities this morning?

Joshua 24:15 “And if it seem evil unto you to serve the Lord, choose you this day whom you will serve; whether the gods which your fathers served that were on the other side of the flood, or the gods of the Amorites, in whose land you dwell: but as for me and my house, we will serve the Lord.

Just put your community in place of the Amorites. It’s real and applies to you and me!

The choice on whom and what I will serve is up to me. So…………….

Mat 6:33, 34 “But seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things shall be added to you. Therefore, do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about its own things. Sufficient for the day is its own trouble.”

Have a great day in service of the King of Kings and Lord of Lords, Jesus!!!
