Choices, we all make them…

Joshua 24:15 “…choose for yourselves this day whom you will serve…
but as for me and my house, we will serve the Lord.”

Choices, we all make them…..

I woke up this morning and the choice was mine to serve God or to serve self.

I woke up early today, excited over all I get to do before the clock
strikes midnight. I have responsibilities to fulfill today. I am important, just ask my Lord.

My job is to choose what kind of a day I’m going to have.

Today I can complain because the weather is rainy or I can thank my Lord
that the grass is getting watered for free.

Today I can feel sad that I don’t have more money or I can thank my Lord
that my finances encourage me to plan my purchases wisely and guide me away from waste.

Today I can grumble about my health or I can rejoice that I am alive.

Today I can lament over all that my parents didn’t give me when I was
growing up or I can feel grateful that my life was preplanned by a loving God.

Today I can cry because roses have thorns or I can celebrate that thorns have roses.

Today I can mourn my lack of friends or I can excitedly embark upon a
quest to discover new relationships.

Today I can continue to ask Jesus to be my best friend.

Today I can whine because I must go to work or I can shout for joy
because I have a job to do in a huge mission field.

Today I can complain because I must go to school or eagerly open my
mind and fill it with rich new tidbits of knowledge.

Today I can start my day with frantic rushing to and fro or with time
alone with God.

Today I can murmur dejectedly because I must do housework or I can
feel honored because the Lord has provided shelter for my mind, body and soul.

Today stretches ahead of me, is shaped by my Lord and awaits my
participation.

I pray that I will end the day choosing God over self. It’s my choice.

Thank you Lord!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Joshua 24:15 “…choose for yourselves this day whom you will serve…
but as for me and my house, we will serve the Lord.”

God knows ALL…

Mat 11:28,29 “Come unto Me, all you that labor and are heavy laden, and
I will give you rest.

Who knows?

When you are tired and discouraged from fruitless efforts…

God knows how hard you have tried.

When you’ve cried so long and your heart is in anguish…

God has counted your tears.

If you feel that your life is on hold and time has passed you by…

God is waiting with you.

When you’re lonely and your friends are too busy even for a phone call…

God is by your side.

When you think you’ve tried everything and don’t know where to turn…
God has a solution.

When nothing makes sense and you are confused or frustrated…

God has the answer.

If suddenly your outlook is brighter and you find traces of hope…

God has sustained you.

When things are going well and you have much to be thankful for..

God has blessed you.

When something joyful happens and you are filled with awe…

God has smiled upon you.

When you have a purpose to fulfill and a dream to follow…

God has opened your eyes and called you by name.

When you realize life is for eternity and only Jesus can save you…

God awaits your calling upon His Son to save you.

Remember that wherever you are or whatever you are facing…GOD KNOWS!

Mat 11:28,29 “Come unto Me, all you that labor and are heavy laden, and
I will give you rest. Take My yoke upon you and learn from Me for I am
gently and lowly of heart, and you will find rest unto your soul.”

The Bible or the TV, you choose…

II Tim 2:15 “Study to show yourself approved to God, a worker
that does not need to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth.”

Joshua 24:15 “But if you refuse to serve the LORD, then choose today whom you will serve. Would you prefer the gods your ancestors served beyond the Euphrates? Or will it be the gods of the Amorites (Americans) in whose land you now live? But as for me and my family, we will serve the LORD.”

“The Bible or the TV, you choose”
They lie on the table side by side
The Holy Bible and the T.V. remote and Guide.
One is well worn and cherished with pride.
Not the Bible, but the T.V. remote and Guide.
One is used daily to help folks decide.
No, not the Bible, but the T.V. remote and Guide.
As the pages are turned, what shall they see.
Oh, what does it matter, turn on the T.V.
So they open the book in which they confide.
No, not the Bible, but the T.V. remote and Guide.

The Word of God is seldom read.
Maybe a verse before they fall into bed
Exhausted and sleepy and tired as can be.
Not from reading the Bible, from watching T.V.
So then back to the table side by side,
Lie the Holy Bible and the T.V. Guide.
No time for prayer, no time for the Word,
The plan of Salvation is seldom heard.
But forgiveness of sin, so full and free
Is found in the Bible, not on T.V.

Here is great passage to keep in mind when viewing the TV, your computer, thinking of a movie, listening to radio…..

Philip. 4:8 “Finally, brethren, whatsoever things are true,
whatsoever things are honest, whatsoever things are just,
whatsoever things are pure, whatsoever things are lovely,
whatsoever things are of good report; if there be any virtue,
and if there be any praise, think on these things.”

Growth in the Valley of Life…

Rom 8:28 “All things work together for good to those who love the Lord,
to those who are the called according to His purposes.”

Growth in the Valley of Life….

Sometimes life seems hard to bear,
Full of sorrow, trouble and woe
it’s then I have to remember
that it’s in the valleys I grow.

If I always stayed on the mountain top
and never experienced pain,
I would never appreciate God’s love
and would be living in vain.

I have so much to learn
and my growth is very slow,
sometimes I need the mountain tops,
but it’s in the valleys I grow.

I do not always understand
why things happen as they do,
but I am very sure of one thing.
My Lord will see me through.

My little valleys are nothing
when I picture Christ on the cross
He went through the valley of death;
His victory was Satan’s loss.

Forgive me Lord, for complaining
when I’m feeling so very low.
Just give me a gentle reminder
that it’s in the valleys I grow.

Continue to strengthen me, Lord
and use my life each day
to share your love with others
and help them find their way.

Thank you for valleys, Lord
For this one thing I know
the mountain tops are glorious
But it’s in the valleys I grow!

Have a blessed day!

REMEMBER…

The shortest distance between a problem and a solution is the distance
between your knees and the floor. The one who kneels to the Lord can
by Jesus’ power stand up to anything.

II Cor 12:9 “And He said to me, “My grace is sufficient for you, for My strength is made perfect in weakness.” Therefore most gladly I will rather boast in my infirmities, that the power of Christ may rest upon me.”

I Thes 5:17, 18 “Pray without ceasing, for this is the will of God
in Christ Jesus, concerning you.”

Which person can be used by God…

Luke 9:27 “If anyone will come after Me, let them deny themselves,
take up their cross daily, and follow Me.”

Which person can be used by God:

The Master was searching for a vessel to use.
On the shelf there were many,
which one would He choose?

Take me cried the gold one,
I am shiny and bright and of great value
And I do things just right,
my beauty and luster will outshine the rest
and for someone like You Master, I would be best.

The Master passed it with no word at all.
He looked at a silver urn, narrow and tall.

I’ll serve you Dear Master;
I’ll pour out your wine and be at your table whenever you dine.
My lines are so graceful and my carving so true,
and silver will always compliment you.

Unheeding, the Master passed on the brass,
it was wide mouthed and shallow and polished like glass.

Here! Here! Cried the vessel,
I know I will do.
Place me on your table for all [men] to view.

Look at me, cried the goblet of crystal so clear,
my transparency shows my contents so dear.
Though fragile am I, don’t cross me,
I will serve you with pride,
And I am sure that I will be happy in your house to abide.

The Master came next to a vessel of wood.
Polished and carved and it solidly stood.

You may use me Dear Master,
The wooden bowl said,
but I’d rather you’d use me for fruit; please no bread.

Then the Master looked down and saw a vessel of clay,
Empty and broken, it helplessly lay.
No hope had that vessel that the Master might choose,
to cleanse and make whole, to fill and to use.

“Ah, this is the vessel I’ve been hoping to find;
I will mend it and use it, and make it all mine.
I need not the vessel with pride in itself,
nor the one so narrow to sit on the shelf.
Not the one who is big mouthed, and shallow and loud,

Nor the one who displays its contents so proud.
Not the one who thinks he can do all things just right,
But this plain earthen vessel filled with My power and might.”

Then gently, He lifted the vessel of clay,
mended it and cleansed it and filled it that day.

He spoke to it kindly, “There’s work you must do.
Just pour out to others, and I’ll pour into you.

Most of the first 12 disciples were simple fishermen, not theologians or Bible College professors. That provides me with the confidence that I can be used just as they were for I am as they were, a jar of broken clay requiring my Lord’s shaping. Our Lord never asks us to walk in our own natural strengths and abilities but to walk dependent upon His strength and abilities.  That dependency forces us to our knees which is a wonderful place to be. God then can become our source of wisdom, knowledge and strength. The following verse really helps explain it better than I ever can;

2 Cor. 12:9 “And he said unto me, My grace is sufficient for thee: for my strength is made perfect in weakness. Most gladly therefore will I rather glory in my infirmities, that the power of Christ may rest upon me.”

Matthew 11:28-29 “Come unto me, all ye that labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you, and learn of me; for I am meek and lowly in heart: and ye shall find rest unto your souls.”

No Greater Love…

Want your perspective on life changed? Ask yourself what real Love is.
Think on this theme BEFORE you start your day.

Greater love has no man than this that He lay down His life for….

John 3:16 “For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son that
whosoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life.”

After God displays His love for us the option is to either accept it or reject it. Sadly most of mankind chooses self over God and rejects His offer to restore the relationship with us that our sin broke.

Matt 7:13-14 “”Enter by the narrow gate; for wide is the gate and broad is the way that leads to destruction, and there are many who go in by it. Because narrow is the gate and difficult is the way which leads to life, and there are few who find

Romans 3:23 “for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God,”

Romans 6:23 “For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord.”

Romans 5:8 “But God demonstrates His own love toward us, in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us.”

Acts 16:31-32 “And he brought them out and said, “Sirs, what must I do to be saved?” 31 So they said, “Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ, and you will be saved, you and your household.”

If we accept God’s gift of salvation or restoration via faith then our reasonable service because of that love…

Rom 14:7-9 “For none of us lives to himself, and no one dies to himself. For if we live, we live to the Lord; and if we die, we die to the Lord, therefore, whether we live or die, we are the Lord’s. For to this end Christ died and rose and lived again, that He might be Lord of both the dead and the living.”

Do you see how different that perspective is than what our world desires and even demands. Why might that be?

II Cor 4:3,4 “But if our gospel be hid, it is hid to those who are lost, in whom
the god of this world has blinded the minds of those who believe not, lest the light
of the glorious gospel of Christ, who is the image of God, should shine unto them.”

Remember today, that we are here to serve Jesus and not the god of this world and self!
Have a great day in the service of the King!!!!!!!!!!!
