Where is God…

Romans 1:20a “For the invisible things of him from the creation of the world are clearly seen…”

Where is God…

A couple had two little boys, ages 8 and 10, who were excessively mischievous. The two were always getting into trouble and their parents could be assured that if any mischief occurred in their town their two young sons were in some way involved. The parents were at their wits end as to what to do about their sons’ behavior. The mother had heard that a clergyman in town had been successful in disciplining children in the past, so she asked her husband if he thought they should send the boys to speak with the clergyman. The husband said, “We might as well as we need to do something before I really lose my temper!”

The clergyman agreed to speak with the boys, but asked to see them individually. The 8 year old went to meet with him first. The clergyman sat the boy down and asked him sternly, “Where is God?” The boy made no response, so the clergyman repeated the question in an even sterner tone, “Where is God?” Again the boy made no attempt to answer. So the clergyman raised his voice even more and shook his finger in the boy’s face, “WHERE IS GOD?”

At that the boy bolted from the room and ran directly home, slamming himself in the closet. His older brother followed him into the closet and said, “What happened?” The younger brother replied, “We are in BIG trouble this time. God is missing and they think we did it”

What a great day to bow down to the King of King and Lord of Lords!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Is God missing in your life? Look around you, the whole of creation screams of His handiwork and majesty.

Romans 1:20 “For the invisible things of him from the creation of the world are clearly seen, being understood by the things that are made, even his eternal power and Godhead; so that they are without excuse:”

The Sense of a Goose and Teamwork…

Heb 10:25a “And let us consider how to stimulate one another to love and good deeds…”

The Sense of a Goose and Teamwork

When you see geese flying along in “V” formation, you
might consider what science has discovered as to why they
fly that way. As each bird flaps its wings, it creates an
uplift for the bird immediately following. By flying in “V”
formation, the whole flock adds at least 71 percent greater
flying range than if each bird flew on its own.

People who share a common direction and sense of
community can get where they are going more quickly and
easily because they are traveling on the thrust of one
another.

When a goose falls out of formation, it suddenly feels
the drag and resistance of trying to go it alone – and
quickly gets back into formation to take advantage of the
lifting power of the bird in front.

If we have as much sense as a goose, we will stay in
formation with those people who are headed the same way we are.

When the head goose gets tired, it rotates back in the
wing and another goose flies point.

It is sensible to take turns doing demanding jobs,
whether with people or with geese flying south.

Geese honk from behind to encourage those up front to
keep up their speed.

What messages do we give when we honk from behind?

Finally – and this is important – when a goose gets sick or
is wounded by gunshot, and falls out of formation,
two other geese fall out with that goose and follow it down
to lend help and protection. They stay with the fallen goose
until it is able to fly or until it dies, and only then do
they launch out on their own, or with another formation to
catch up with their group.

If we have the sense of a goose, we will stand by each
other like that.

Heb 10:24, 25 “And let us consider how to stimulate one another to love and good deeds,

not forsaking our own assembling together, as is the habit of some, but encouraging one another, and all the more as you see the day drawing near.”

CAUTION – we are 2000 Years Closer…

CAUTION we are 2000 Years Closer!

Did you know that we are in the last times or last days?  You say, what does that mean and are you one of those doom day people? It has to do with the two times that Jesus will come to our earth. Jesus came the first time to pay the sacrifice for our sins, so we could accept Him as Lord and Savior and restore that broken fellowship with God.  His 2nd coming will put an end to sin and death as this world knows it and…….

We are now 2000 years closer to His second coming.

What a thought!!!! Yes, we have friends and family that are unsaved or who have not accepted Jesus as their Lord and Savior so this day should take on even more urgency!

Heb 1:1,2a “God, who at various times and in different ways spoke in times past to the fathers by the prophets, has in these last days spoken to us by His Son…”

Jesus, name above all names! He alone is worthy!!!!!!!!!!

He is able to reveal and perform the events of the last days|

Rev 5:2,3&9 “Then I saw a strong angel proclaiming with a loud voice, ‘Who is worthy to open the scroll and to lose the seals?’ And no one in heaven or on the earth or under the earth was able to open the scroll, or to look at it. And they sang a new song, saying, ‘You are worthy to take the scroll, and to open its seals; For You were slain, and have redeemed us to God BY YOUR BLOOD out of every tribe and tongue and nation.’ “

Have you been ‘born again’? Are you walking in His power? Have you shared the Gospel with the lost all around you or even just one?

Col 1:13,14 “He has delivered us from the power of darkness and translated us into the Kingdom of His love, in whom we have redemption THROUGH HIS BLOOD, the forgiveness of sins.”

Today would be a good day for us to awake to God’s will for our lives!

Humor and the Atheist…

Gen 1:1 “In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth…”

Humor and the Atheist…

An atheist was taking a walk through the woods, admiring all that the “accident of evolution” had created.

What majestic trees!

What powerful rivers!

What beautiful animals!” he said to himself.

As he walked alongside the river he heard a rustling in the bushes behind him. As he turned to look, he saw a 7-foot grizzly charge towards him.

He ran as fast as he could up the path. He looked over his shoulder & saw the bear closing in on him. He tried to run even faster, so scared that tears were coming to his eyes. He looked over his shoulder again, and the bear was even closer. His heart was pumping frantically as he tried to run even faster, but he tripped and fell on the ground. He rolled over to pick himself up and saw the bear right on top of him raising his paw to kill him.

At that instant he cried out “God, please help!”

Just then, time stopped… The bear froze; the forest was silent; the river even stopped moving.  A bright light shone upon the man, and a voice came out of the sky saying…

“You deny my existence all of these years; teach others I don’t exist; even credit my creation to a cosmic accident, and now do you desire me to help you out of this predicament?

Am I to count you as a believer?”

The atheist, ever so proud, looked into the light and said… “It would be rather hypocritical to ask to be a Christian after all these years, but could you make the bear a Christian?”
“Very well,” said the voice.

As the light went out, the river ran, and the sounds of the forest continued, the bear put his paw down. The bear then brought both paws together… bowed his head and said… “Lord, I thank you for this food, which I am about to receive.”

Yes, we all know that animals are neither believers or unbelievers but for the

sake of some good humor it works.

An interesting truth is that inside of us all is a yearning for God. The atheist is just more open about his rebellion. Most attend a church but never serve the King of Kings and Lord of Lords!!

The question to ask is, where do I stand???

Mat 16:13-16 “When Jesus came into the region of Caesarea Philippi, He asked His disciples, saying, “Who do men say that I, the Son of Man, am?” So they said, “Some say John the Baptist, some Elijah, and others Jeremiah or one of the prophets.” He said to them, “But who do you say that I am?” Simon Peter answered and said, “You are the Christ, the Son of the living God.”

Rev 20:15 “And anyone not found written in the Book of Life was cast into the lake of fire.”

Gen 1:1 “In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth…”

Gen 2:7 “And God blessed the seventh day, and sanctified it: because that in it he had rested from all his work which God created and made”

The Children’s Bible in a Nutshell…

Psalm 98:4 “Shout joyfully to the Lord, all the earth; break forth and sing for joy and sing praises.”

A child was asked to write a book report on the entire Bible. Here is what he wrote:

The Children’s Bible in a Nutshell

“In the beginning, which occurred near the start, there was nothing but God, darkness, and some gas. The Bible says, “The Lord thy God is one,” but I think He must be a lot older than that. Anyway, God said, “Give me a light!” and someone did.

Then God made the world.  He split the Adam and made Eve. Adam and Eve were naked, but they weren’t embarrassed because mirrors hadn’t been invented yet. Adam and Eve disobeyed God by eating one bad apple, so they were driven from the Garden of Eden … Not sure what they were driven in though, because they didn’t have cars.

Adam and Eve had a son, Cain, who hated his brother as long as he was Abel. Pretty soon all of the early people died off, except for Methuselah, who lived to be like a million or something.

One of the next important people was Noah, who was a good guy, but one of his kids was kind of a Ham. Noah built a large boat and put his family and some animals on it. He asked some other people to join him, but they said they would have to take a rain check. After Noah came Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob. Jacob was more famous than his brother, Esau, because Esau sold Jacob his birthmark in exchange for some pot roast.  Jacob had a son named Joseph who wore a really loud sports coat.

Another important Bible guy is Moses, whose real name was Charlton Hesston. Moses led the Israel Lights out of Egypt and away from the evil Pharaoh after God sent ten plagues on Pharaoh’s people. These plagues included frogs, mice, lice, bowels, and no cable. God fed the Israel Lights every day with manicotti. Then he gave them His Top Ten Commandments. These include: don’t lie, cheat, smoke, dance, or covet your neighbor’s stuff.  Oh, yeah, I just thought of one more: Humor thy father and thy mother. One of Moses’ best helpers was Joshua who was the first Bible guy to use spies.  Joshua fought the battle of Geritol and the fence fell over on the town.

After Joshua came David. He got to be king by killing a giant with a slingshot. He had a son named Solomon who had about 300 wives and 500 porcupines. My teacher says he was wise, but that doesn’t sound very wise to me. After Solomon there were a bunch of major league prophets. One of these was Jonah, who was swallowed by a big whale and then barfed up on the shore. There were also some minor league prophets, but I guess we don’t have to worry about them.

After the Old Testament came the New Testament. Jesus is the star of The New Testament. He was born in Bethlehem in a barn. (I wish I had been born in a barn too, because my mom is always saying to me, “Close the door! Were you born in a barn?” It would be nice to say, ”As a matter of fact, I was.”) During His life, Jesus had many arguments with sinners like the Pharisees and the Democrats. Jesus also had twelve opossums. The worst one was Judas Asparagus.  Judas was so evil that they named a terrible vegetable after him.

Jesus was a great man. He healed many leopards and even preached to some Germans on the Mount. But the Democrats and all those guys put Jesus on trial before Pontius the Pilot. Pilot didn’t stick up for Jesus. He just washed his hands instead. Anyways, Jesus died for our sins, and then came back to life again. He went up to Heaven but will be back at the end of the Aluminum. His return is foretold in the book of Revolution.”

Job 8:21 “He will yet fill your mouth with laughter and your lips with shouting.”

Life’s Struggles to be Spiritually Strong…

Rom 8:28 “And we know that all things work together for good to those
who love The Lord, to those who are the called according to His
purpose.”

The following, I believe, is one of the toughest concepts for ‘born again’ believers to accept.

Evaluate your acceptance or rejection of this concept sent from God as you read it.

Life’s Struggles to be Spiritually Strong

A man found a cocoon of a butterfly. One day a small opening appeared. He sat and watched the butterfly for several hours as it struggled to force its body through that little hole. Then it seemed to stop making any progress. It appeared as if it had gotten as far as it could and it could go no further. So the man decided to help the butterfly. He took a pair of scissors and snipped off the remaining bit of the cocoon. The butterfly then emerged easily. But it had a swollen body and small, shriveled wings.

The man continued to watch the butterfly because he expected that, at any moment, the wings would enlarge and expand to be able to support the body, which would contract in time. Neither happened!  In fact, the butterfly spent the rest of its life crawling around with a
swollen body and shriveled wings.

It never was able to fly.

What the man, in his kindness and haste, did not understand was that the restricting cocoon and the struggle required for the butterfly to get through the tiny opening were God’s way of forcing fluid from the body of the butterfly into its wings so that it would be ready for flight once it achieved its freedom from the cocoon.

Sometimes struggles are exactly what we need in our lives. If God allowed us to go through our lives without any obstacles, it would cripple us. We would not be as strong as what we could have been. We could never fly!

I asked for Strength and God gave me Difficulties to make me strong.
I asked for Wisdom and God gave me Problems to solve.
I asked for Prosperity and God gave me Brain and Brawn to work.
I asked for Courage and God gave me Danger to overcome.
I asked for Love and God gave me troubled people to help.
I asked for Favors and God gave me Opportunities.

I received nothing I wanted I received everything I needed!

May God Bless you with unspeakable joy, not only in the world to come, but in this world also. May your path be bright and full of light everywhere you go. May God tell darkness that it must flee at your command. And, I pray your feet will never stumble out of God’s plan.

May God’s will for your life come true. And may you experience peace in everything you do. May Goodness, Kindness, and Mercy come your way. And, may you gain Wisdom and grow in the Lord every day.

II Cor 4:16-18 “Therefore we do not lose heart. Even though our outward
man is perishing, yet the inward man is being renewed day by day. For
our light affliction, is but for a moment, is working for us a far more
exceeding and eternal weight of glory. While we do not look at the
things which are seen, but at the things which are not seen. For the
things which are seen are temporary, but the things which are not seen
are eternal.”
