Jesus is coming a 2nd time…

Jesus is coming a 2nd time!

Did you know that we are in the last times or last days?  You say, what does that mean and are you one of those doom day people? It has to do with the two times that Jesus will come to our earth. Jesus came the first time to pay the sacrifice for our sins so we have the opportunity to accept Him as Lord and Savior and restore that broken fellowship with God.  His 2nd coming will put an end to sin and death as this world knows it and…….

We are now 2000 years closer to His second coming.

What a thought!!!! Yes, we have friends and family that are unsaved or who have not accepted Jesus as their Lord and Savior so this day should take on even more urgency!

Heb 1:1, 2a “God, who at various times and in different ways spoke in times past to the fathers by the prophets, has in these last days spoken to us by His Son…”

Jesus, name above all names! He alone is worthy!!!!!!!!!!

He is able to reveal and perform the events of the last days|

Rev 5:2, 3&9 “Then I saw a strong angel proclaiming with a loud voice, ‘Who is worthy to open the scroll and to loose the seals?’ And no one in heaven or on the earth or under the earth was able to open the scroll, or to look at it. And they sang a new song, saying, ‘You are worthy to take the scroll, and to open its seals; for You were slain, and have redeemed us to God BY YOUR BLOOD out of every tribe and tongue and nation.’ “

Have you been  ‘born again’? Are you walking in His power? Have you shared the Gospel with the lost all around you or even just one?

Col 1:13, 14 “He has delivered us from the power of darkness and translated us into the Kingdom of His love, in whom we have redemption THROUGH HIS BLOOD, the forgiveness of sins.”

Today would be a good day for us to awake to God’s will for our lives!

The Blessing in the Answer of, NO…

Isa 55:8 “For My thoughts are not your thoughts, nor are your ways My ways, declares the Lord.”
The Blessing in the answer of “NO”

I asked God to take away my pride.
God said “No”.
It is not for me to take away, but for you to give it up.

I asked God to make my handicapped child whole.
God said “No”.
Her spirit was whole, her body was only temporary.

I asked God to grant me patience.
God said “No”.
Patience is a byproduct of tribulations; it isn’t granted, it is learned.

I asked God to give me happiness.
God said “No”.
I give you blessings; happiness and contentment are up to you.

I asked God to spare me pain.
God said “No”.
Suffering draws you apart from worldly cares and brings you closer to me.

I asked God to make my spirit grow.
God said “No”.
You must grow on your own, but I will prune you to make you fruitful.

I asked for all things that I might enjoy life.
God said “No”.
I will give you life so that you may enjoy all things.

I asked God to help me LOVE others, as much as He loves me.
God said… Ahhhh, finally you have the idea!

What if,
GOD couldn’t take the time to bless us today because we couldn’t take the
time to thank HIM yesterday?

What if,
GOD decided to stop leading us tomorrow because we didn’t follow HIM today?

What if,
We never saw another flower bloom because we grumbled when GOD sent the rain?

What if,
GOD didn’t walk with us today because we failed to recognize it as His day?

What if,
GOD took away His message because we failed to listen to the messenger?

What if,
GOD didn’t send His only begotten Son because He wanted us to be
prepared to pay the price for sin?

What if,
The door of the church was closed because we did not open the door of our heart?

What if,
GOD stopped loving and caring for us because we failed to love and care for others?

What if,
GOD would not hear us today because we would not listen to Him yesterday?

What if,
GOD answered our prayers the way we answer His call to service?

What if,
GOD met our needs the way we give Him our lives???

What if, we fail to understand the meaning of this message?
Philip. 4:8 “Finally, brethren, whatsoever things are true, whatsoever things are honest, whatsoever things are just, whatsoever things are pure, whatsoever things are lovely, whatsoever things are of good report; if there be any virtue, and if there be any praise, think on these things.”

Putting things into a right perspective…

I Tim 6:6 “Godliness with contentment is great gain.”
***Putting things into a right perspective!!!

“Come in,” God said to me,
“So, you would like to interview Me?”

“If you have the time,” I said.

God smiled and said:
“My time is called eternity and is enough to do everything;
What questions do you have in mind to ask me?”
“Probably none that are new to you.

What’s the one thing that surprises you most about mankind?”

God answered:

– That they get bored of being children, are in a rush to grow up, and then long to be children again.
– That they lose their health to make money and then lose their money to restore their health.
– That by thinking anxiously about the future, they forget the present, such that they live neither for the present nor the future.

– That they willing trade fellowship with Me for the pleasures of sin for a moment that brings spiritual and physical death.
– That they live as if they will never die, and they die as if they had never lived…”

God’s hands took mine and we were silent.

After a long period, I said,
“May I ask you another question?”

“As a Parent, what would you ask your children to do?”

God replied with a smile:

– To learn that they cannot make anyone love them.
– The first step is to display My love which is unconditional.”
– To learn that it takes years to build trust, and a few seconds to destroy it.
– To learn that what is most valuable is not the things they have in their lives, but who they have in their lives.
– To learn that it is not good to compare themselves to others. There will be others better and worse than they are.
– To learn that a rich person is not one who has the most, but is one who gives the most.
– To learn that they should control their attitudes, otherwise their attitudes will control them.
– To learn that it only takes a few seconds to open profound wounds in persons we love, and that it takes many years to heal them.
– To learn to forgive by practicing forgiveness.
– To learn that there are persons that love them dearly, but simply does not know how to show their feelings.
– To learn that money can buy things that will perish but it cannot buy happiness and fulfillment and peace that last for eternity.
– To learn that while at times they may be entitled to be upset, that does not give them the right to upset those around them.
– To learn that great dreams of eternal value do not require inner strength, but they do require My strength to achieve.
– To learn that true friends are scarce, he/she who has found one has found a true treasure.
– To learn that it is not always enough that they be forgiven by others, but that they forgive others and themselves. Even when you are the offended.
– To learn that they are masters of what they keep to themselves and slaves of what they say.
– To learn that they shall reap what they plant; if they plant gossip they will harvest intrigues, if they plant love they will harvest happiness.
– To learn that happiness is a blessing and a decision. They decide to be happy with what they are and have, or die from envy and jealousy of what they lack.
– To learn that two people can look at the same thing and see something totally different.
– To learn that those who are honest with themselves and those around them will be content and at peace regardless of the circumstances.
– To learn that even though they may think they have nothing to give, when a friend cries with them, they find the strength to appease the pain.
– By learning when to hold on to loved ones, and when to let go of those they love, they will be side by side forever.
– To learn that even though the word “love” has many different meanings, it loses value when it is overstated or falsely spoken.
– To learn that they can never do something extraordinary for Me to love them; I simply do.
– To learn that the shortest distance they could be from Me is the distance to their knees.”

Mat 6:33 “But seek you first the Kingdom of God and its righteousness…”

Finding a True Friend…

Finding a True Friend!

Look around you this morning. Do you have any friend(s) who would
die for you so that you might live?

Sounds pretty extreme and yes it is but there is One who will and did!
The Friend you can ALWAYS count on.

Proverbs 18:24 “A man who has friends must himself be friendly,
but there is a friend who sticks closer than a brother.”

Hebrews 12:2 “Looking unto Jesus the author and finisher of our faith,
Who for the joy that was set before Him, endured the cross, despising
the shame and is set down at the right hand of the throne of God.”

How to get closer to our Friend.

John 3:3 “Jesus answered and said to him, “Most assuredly, I say to you, unless one is born again, he cannot see the kingdom of God.”

Luke 9:23 “And he said to them all, If any man will come after me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross daily, and follow me.”

No Greater Love…

Want your perspective on life changed? Ask yourself what real Love is.
Think on this theme BEFORE you start your day.

Greater love has no man than this that He lay down His life for….

John 3:16 “For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son that
whosoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life.”

After God displays His love for us the option is to either accept it or reject it. Sadly most of mankind chooses self over God and rejects His offer to restore the relationship with us that our sin broke.

Matt 7:13-14 “”Enter by the narrow gate; for wide is the gate and broad is the way that leads to destruction, and there are many who go in by it. Because narrow is the gate and difficult is the way which leads to life, and there are few who find

Romans 3:23 “for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God,”

Romans 6:23 “For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord.”

Romans 5:8 “But God demonstrates His own love toward us, in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us.”

Acts 16:31-32 “And he brought them out and said, “Sirs, what must I do to be saved?” 31 So they said, “Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ, and you will be saved, you and your household.”

If we accept God’s gift of salvation or restoration via faith then our reasonable service because of that love…

Rom 14:7-9 “For none of us lives to himself, and no one dies to himself. For if we live, we live to the Lord; and if we die, we die to the Lord, therefore, whether we live or die, we are the Lord’s. For to this end Christ died and rose and lived again, that He might be Lord of both the dead and the living.”

Do you see how different that perspective is than what our world desires and even demands. Why might that be?

II Cor 4:3,4 “But if our gospel be hid, it is hid to those who are lost, in whom
the god of this world has blinded the minds of those who believe not, lest the light
of the glorious gospel of Christ, who is the image of God, should shine unto them.”

Remember today, that we are here to serve Jesus and not the god of this world and self!
Have a great day in the service of the King!!!!!!!!!!!

Does your Lie have Purpose…

Matthew 4:19 “And he saith unto them, Follow me, and I will make you fishers of men.”

Does your Life have Purpose?

 Three Trees

Once there were three trees on a hill in the woods.
They were discussing their hopes and dreams when the first tree said,
“Someday I hope to be a treasure chest. I could be filled with gold,
silver and precious gems. I could be decorated with intricate carving
and everyone would see the beauty.”

Then the second tree said, “Someday I will be a mighty ship. I
will take kings and queens across the waters and sail to the corners of
the world. Everyone will feel safe in me because of the strength of my
hull.”

Finally the third tree said, “I want to grow to be the tallest
and straightest tree in the forest. People will see me on top of the
hill and look up to my branches, and think of the heavens and God and
how close to them I am reaching. I will be the greatest tree of all time
and people will always remember me.”

After a few years of praying that their dreams would come true,
a group of woodsmen came upon the trees. When one came to the first tree
he said, “This looks like a strong tree, I think I should be able to
sell the wood to a carpenter” … and he began cutting it down. The tree
was happy, because he knew that the carpenter would make him into a
treasure chest.

At the second tree a woodsman said, “This looks like a strong
tree, I should be able to sell it to the shipyard “The second tree was
happy because he knew he was on his way to becoming a mighty ship. When
the woodsmen came upon the third tree, the tree was frightened because
he knew that if they cut him down his dreams would not come true. One of
the woodsmen said, “I don’t need anything special from my tree so I’ll
take this one”, and he cut it down.”

When the first tree arrived at the carpenters, he was made into
a feed box for animals. He was then placed in a barn and filled with
hay. This was not at all what he had prayed for. The second tree was cut
and made into a small fishing boat. His dreams of being a mighty ship
and carrying kings had come to an end. The third tree was cut into large
pieces and left alone in the dark. The years went by, and the trees
forgot about their dreams.

Then one day, a man and women came to the barn. She gave birth
and they placed the baby in the hay in the feed box that was made from
the first tree. The man wished that he could have made a crib for the
baby, but this manger would have to do. The tree could feel the
importance of this event and knew that it had held the greatest treasure
of all time.

Years later, a group of men got in the fishing boat made from
the second tree. One of them was tired and went to sleep. While they
were out on the water, a great storm arose and the tree didn’t think it
was strong enough to keep the men safe. The men woke the sleeping man,
and he stood and said “Peace” and the storm stopped. At this time, the
tree knew that it had carried the King of Kings in its boat. Finally,
someone came and got the third tree. It was carried through the streets
as the people mocked the man who was carrying it.

When they came to a stop, the man was nailed to the tree and
raised in the air to die at the top of a hill.
When Sunday came, the tree came to realize that it was strong enough to
stand at the top of the hill and be as close to God as was possible,
because Jesus had been crucified on it.

The moral of this story is that when things don’t seem to be
going your way, always know that God has a plan for you. If you place
your trust in Him, He will give you great gifts. Each of the trees got
what they wanted, just not in the way they had imagined. We don’t always
know what God’s plans are for us. We just know that His ways are not our
ways, but His ways are always best.

Isaiah 55:8 “For my thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways my ways, declares the Lord.”

Matthew 4:18-22 “And Jesus, walking by the sea of Galilee,
saw two brethren, Simon called Peter, and Andrew his
brother, casting a net into the sea: for they were fishers. And he
saith unto them, Follow me, and I will make you fishers of
men. And they straightway left their nets, and followed him.
And going on from thence, he saw other two brethren,
James the son of Zebedee, and John his brother, in a ship with
Zebedee their father, mending their nets; and he called them.
And they immediately left the ship and their father, and followed him.”

To have Purpose like these men you must be ‘born again’. Look up the following in God’s letters to us in the Bible if you really want to have Purpose in Life.
