A Glinpse of Heaven…

Let not your hearts be troubled||

A Glimpse of Heaven…

Isaiah 6:1-3 “In the year King Uzziah died, I saw the Lord sitting on a throne, high and lifted up, and the train of His robe filled the temple. Above it stood seraphim; each one had six wings: With two he covered his face, with two he covered his feet, and with two he flew. And one cried to another and said: ‘Holy, Holy, Holy is the Lord of hosts; The whole earth is full of His glory.'”

Imagine the day it is your turn to be before the throne of God!!!

What will you hear?

Well done or I never knew you! Yes, there will be many who think their eternal destiny is with God in heaven but will not be there. Why? Because they are trusting in their works or church affiliation or in something other than the sacrifice that Jesus paid on Calvary for the sins of mankind for their eternal destiny.

Mat 7:22, 23 “Many will say to Me in that day, ‘Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in Your name, cast out demons in Your name, and done many wonders in Your name?’. And then I will say to them, ‘I never knew you; depart from Me, you who practice lawlessness’.

Jesus is coming a second time!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
And we will all one day stand in front of Him. Are you ready?? If you have placed your faith in Jesus then…..

John 14:1-3 “Let not your heart be troubled, you believe in God, believe also in Me. In My Father’s house are many mansions, if it were not so, I would have told you. I go to prepare a place for you. And if I go, I WILL COME AGAIN and receive you to Myself; that where I am, there you may be also.”

Heaven is real and unfortunately so is hell.

Are you ready?

John 3:3b “…you must be born again!”

What Motivates a Parent…

What Motivates a Parent…

To understand the logic that motivates a parent, I will tell them:

I loved you enough…
to ask where you were going, with whom,
and what time you would be home.

I loved you enough…
to insist that you save your money and buy
a bike for yourself even though we
could afford to buy one for you.

I loved you enough…
to be silent and let you discover that your
new best friend was a creep.

I loved you enough…
to make you take a Milky Way back to the
drugstore (with a bite out of it) and tell the clerk,
“I stole this yesterday and want to pay for it. ”

I loved you enough…
to stand over you for two hours while you cleaned
your room, a job that would have taken 15 minutes.

I loved you enough…
to let you see anger, disappointment and tears in my eyes.
Children must learn that their parents aren’t perfect.

I loved you enough…
to let you assume the responsibility for your actions
even when the penalties were so harsh they almost
broke my heart.

But most of all,

I loved you enough…
to say NO when I knew you would hate me for it.
Those were the most difficult battles of all.
I’m glad I won them, because in the end you won, too.

I loved you enough…
To let you hate me at times.

I loved you enough…
to tell you about Jesus and His love………..
To really understand love, you must understand how someone could
sacrifice their only Son to pay the debt of someone who chose to break off fellowship with Him.

John 3:16 “For God so loved the world that He gave His only
begotten Son, that whosoever believes in Him should not perish,
but have everlasting life.”

With Jesus as your Savior then ALL IS GOOD…

Romans 8:28 “And we know that all things work together for good to them
that love God, to them who are the called according to his purpose.”

With Jesus as your Savior then ALL IS GOOD!

The story is told of a king in Africa who had a close friend
with whom he grew up.  The friend had a habit of looking at every
situation that ever occurred in his life (positive or negative) and
remarking, “This is good!”

One day the king and his friend were out on a hunting expedition.
The friend would load and prepare the guns for the king. The friend had
apparently done something wrong in preparing one of the guns, for after
taking the gun from his friend, the king fired it and his thumb was blown off.

Examining the situation the friend remarked as usual, “This is good!”

To which the king replied, “No, this is NOT good!” and proceeded
to send his friend to jail.

About a year later, the king was hunting in an area that he
should have known to stay clear of. Cannibals captured him and took them
to their village. They tied his hands, stacked some wood, set up a stake
and bound him to the stake. As they came near to set fire to the wood, they
noticed that the king was missing a thumb. Being superstitious, they
never ate anyone that was less than whole. So untying the king, they
sent him on his way.

As he returned home, he was reminded of the event that had taken
his thumb and felt remorse for his treatment of his friend. He went
immediately to the jail to speak with his friend. “You were right,” he
said, “it was good that my thumb was blown off. And he proceeded to tell
the friend all that had just happened. “And so I am very sorry for
sending you to jail for so long. It was bad of me to do this.”

“No” his friend replied, “This is good!”

“What do you mean, “This is good?” How could it be good that I sent my
friend to jail for a year?”

“If I had NOT been in jail, I would have been with you when you were
captured.”

Situations may not always seem pleasant while we are in them,
but the promise of God is clear. If we love Him and live our lives
according to His precepts, even that which seems to be bleak and
hopeless will be turned by God for His glory and our benefit.

Romans 8:28-30 “And we know that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are the called according to his purpose. For whom he did foreknow, he also did predestinate to be conformed to the image of his Son, that he might be the firstborn among many brethren. Moreover, whom he did predestinate, them he also called: and whom he called, them he also justified: and whom he justified, them he also glorified.”

If Jesus is your Savior then ALL IS GOOD!

The Real CHRISTian…

The Real CHRISTian…

I Pet 2:9-10 “But you are a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, a
holy nation,, His own people, THAT YOU MAY PROCLAIM the
praises of Him who called you out of darkness into His marvelous light;
who once were not a people but are now the people of God, who had
not obtained mercy but now have obtained mercy.”

A.W. Tozier

“The real Christian is an odd human being anyway. The Christian
feels supreme love for One he has never seen, he talks everyday with
Someone he cannot see, he expects to go to heaven on the virtue of
Someone else, he empties himself in order to be full, he admits he is
wrong so he can be declared right, he goes down in order to get up, he
is strongest when he is weakest, richest when he is the poorest,
happiest when he feels the worst, he dies so he can live, he forsakes in
order to have, he gives away so he can keep he sees the invisible, hears
the inauditable, knows that which passes knowledge.”

The test. What is your life proclaiming? And of course remember, the
biblical requirement for being a Christian is that, ‘you must be born again’

Acts 11:26 “And when he had found him, he brought him unto Antioch.
And it came to pass, that a whole year they assembled themselves with
the church, and taught much people. And the disciples were called
Christians first in Antioch.”

Luke 9:23 “And he said to them all, If any man will come after me, let him
deny himself, and take up his cross daily, and follow me.”

HAVE A GREAT DAY SERVING JESUS and remember what real
priorities Jesus would have you to practice!!!!

Life Requires our Best Effort for God…

I Cor 10:31b “…or whatever you do, do all to the glory of God.”

Life Requires our Best Effort for God

An elderly carpenter was ready to retire. He told his
employer contractor of his plans to leave the house building
business and live a more leisurely life with his wife enjoying
his extended family. He would miss the paycheck, but he needed
to retire. They could get by.

The contractor was sorry to see his good worker go and
asked if he could build just one more house as a personal
favor. The carpenter said yes, but in time it was easy to
see that his heart was not in his work. He resorted to
shoddy workmanship and used inferior materials.

It was an unfortunate way to end his career. When the
carpenter finished his work and the builder came to inspect the
house, the contractor handed the front door key to the carpenter.
This is your house, he said, my gift to you.

What a shock. What a shame. If he had only known he was
building his own house, he would have done it all so differently.
Now he had to live in the home he had built none too well.

So it is with us. We build our lives in a distracted way,
reacting rather than acting, willing to put up less than the best.
At important points we do not give the job our best effort. Then
with a shock we look at the situation we have created and find
that we are now living in the house we have built. If we had
realized that we would have done it differently.

Think of yourself as the carpenter. Think about your
house. Each day you hammer a nail, place a board, or erect a wall.
Build wisely.

It is the only life you will ever build. Even if you live
it for only one day more, that day deserves to be lived graciously
and with dignity.

…do all to the glory of God!!!!!!!

Luke 9:23-25 “Then He said to them all, “If anyone desires to come after Me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross daily, and follow Me. For whoever desires to save his life will lose it, but whoever loses his life for My sake will save it. For what profit is it to a man if he gains the whole world, and is himself destroyed or lost?”

Salt and Light in a Dark World…

Mat 5:13, 14 “You are the salt of the earth: but if the salt has lost his savor, wherewith shall it be salted? it is thenceforth good for nothing, but to be cast out, and to be trodden under foot of men. You are the light of the world. A city that is set on a hill cannot be hid.”

Salt and Light in a Dark World…

We should be holiest in evil times. We live in a world that says, when it comes to spiritual matters “do not rock the boat or disagree with anyone”. If you do, you are then viewed as an intolerant person not open to the needs of others and not worthy to be in their group and you are a nasty person. There is a huge problem with that and if we buy into the world’s view and keep silent.

John 15:20 “Remember the word that I said unto you, the servant is not greater than his lord. If they have persecuted me, they will also persecute you; if they have kept my saying, they will keep yours also.”
Jesus presented a very narrow way to reestablish the link with God that sin broke. He proclaimed that there is only One way.

John 14:6 “Jesus said unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me.”

Mat 7:13,14 “Enter you in at the strait gate: for wide is the gate, and broad is the way, that leads to destruction, and many there be which go in there at: Because strait is the gate, and narrow is the way, which leads unto life, and few there be that find it.”

Now if we are ‘born gain’, we are or are supposed to be the salt and light of the world. We are to provide truth to a dark world. So who wants to hinder truth from being presented to those who need it? There is any enemy doing so and until Jesus returns a 2nd time we will have to do battle with him.

The profaneness of the times should not slacken our zeal–but heighten it. The looser others are — the stricter we should be. Based on who is running our world today the opposition we come up against should not surprise us.

II Cor 4:3, 4 “But if our gospel be hid, it is hid to them that are lost: In whom the god of this world hath blinded the minds of them which believe not, lest the light of the glorious gospel of Christ, who is the image of God, should shine unto them.”

The way to hell is a well-trodden road. “Thou shalt not follow a multitude to do evil” Exodus 23:2. Dead fish swim down the stream — living fish swim against it. Mere professors cut the garment of their religion according to the mode and fashion of the times.

Let us keep up the vigor of our zeal, in degenerate times. We should by a holy contrariness — burn hotter in a frozen age. We live in the dregs of time; sin is grown common and impudent. It is excellent for God’s name and glory to walk contrary to the world. Let us be as lilies and roses — among the briars. Sin is never the better because it is in fashion! The impiety of the times, is a foil to set off grace all the more, and give it a greater luster.

This plea will not help at the last day-“that we did as most others did.” God will say, “Seeing you sinned with the multitude — you shall go to hell with the multitude!” Oh, let us keep pure among the dregs! Let us be like fish, which retain their freshness, in salt waters.

Mat 7:13, 14 It is better to go to heaven with a few — than to hell in the crowd! “Enter you in at the strait gate: for wide is the gate, and broad is the way, that leads to destruction, and many there be which go in there at:”
