ALLthings work together for good…If God is in your Life…

Rom 8:28 “And we know that all things work together for good to those who love God, to those who are the called according to His purpose. “

All things work together for good…..if God is in your Life…

God knows where you need to be!

Next time your morning seems to be going wrong and the children
are slow getting dressed and you can’t seem to find the car keys and you hit every
traffic light, don’t get mad or frustrated; praise God instead because God is at work
watching over you.

Listen to this account of why we may need a perspective change.  After Sept. 11 … I happened to call a man on business that I didn’t know and have not, nor will ever, talk to again. But this day, he felt like talking.  He was the head of security of a company that had invited the remaining members of a company who had been decimated by the attack on the Twin Towers to share their office space. With his voice full of awe he told me stories of why these people were
alive and their counterparts were dead…..and all the stories were just ‘little’ things.

As you might know, the head of the company got in late that day
because his son started kindergarten. Another fellow was alive because it was his
turn to bring donuts.
One woman was late because her alarm clock didn’t go off in time.
One was late because of being stuck on the NJ Turnpike because of an auto accident.
One missed his bus.
One spilled food on her clothes and had to take time to change.
One’s car wouldn’t start.
One went back to answer the telephone.
One had a child that dawdled and didn’t get ready as soon as he should have.
One couldn’t get a taxi.
There were other stories that I hope and pray will someday be gathered
and put in a book.

The one that struck me was the man who put on a new pair of
shoes that morning, took the various means to get to work but before he got there,
he developed a blister on his foot. He stopped at a drugstore to buy a Band-Aid.
That is why he is alive today.

Now when I am stuck in traffic, miss an elevator, turn back to
answer a ringing phone…. all the little things that annoy me …I think to myself,
this is exactly where God wants me to be at this very moment.

May God continue to bless you with all those annoying little
things and may you remember their possible purpose

As a ‘born again’ believer we are reminded that;

Romans 8:28 “And we know that all things work together for good to them
who love the Lord, to them who are called according to His purposes”

If you are not a ‘born again’ believer check out what Jesus said;

John 14:6 “Jesus said to him, “I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through Me.”

And another reminder. Some were in the Towers on that day to be a light
among a dark world to help those needing and wanting last minute help….today
they are with Jesus….

Thank you Heavenly Father…

James 1:2-3 “My brethren, count it all joy when you fall into various trials, 3 knowing that the testing of your faith produces patience.

Matt 23:9 “Do not call anyone on earth your father; for One is your Father, He who is in heaven.”

Thank You Heavenly Father

Hello God,
I called tonight
to talk a little while
I need a friend who’ll listen
to my anxiety and trial.
You see, I can’t quite make it
through a day just on my own…
I need your love to guide me,
so I’ll never feel alone.
I want to ask you please to keep
my family safe and sound.
Come and fill their lives with confidence
give me faith, dear God, to face
each hour throughout the day,
And not to worry over things
I can’t change in any way.
I thank you God for being home
and listening to my call,
for giving me such good advice
when I stumble and fall.
Your number, God, is the only one
that answers every time.
I never get a busy signal,
Never had to pay a dime.
So thank you, God, for listening
to my troubles and my sorrow.
Good night, God, I love You too,
and I’ll call again tomorrow!

I Thes 5:18 “in everything give thanks; for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus for you”

Matthew 11:28 “Come unto me, all ye that labor and are heavy laden,
and I will give you rest.”

Growth in the Valley of Life…

Rom 8:28 “All things work together for good to those who love the Lord,
to those who are the called according to His purposes.”

Growth in the Valley of Life….

Sometimes life seems hard to bear,
Full of sorrow, trouble and woe
it’s then I have to remember
that it’s in the valleys I grow.

If I always stayed on the mountain top
and never experienced pain,
I would never appreciate God’s love
and would be living in vain.

I have so much to learn
and my growth is very slow,
sometimes I need the mountain tops,
but it’s in the valleys I grow.

I do not always understand
why things happen as they do,
but I am very sure of one thing.
My Lord will see me through.

My little valleys are nothing
when I picture Christ on the cross
He went through the valley of death;
His victory was Satan’s loss.

Forgive me Lord, for complaining
when I’m feeling so very low.
Just give me a gentle reminder
that it’s in the valleys I grow.

Continue to strengthen me, Lord
and use my life each day
to share your love with others
and help them find their way.

Thank you for valleys, Lord
For this one thing I know
the mountain tops are glorious
But it’s in the valleys I grow!

Have a blessed day!

REMEMBER…

The shortest distance between a problem and a solution is the distance
between your knees and the floor. The one who kneels to the Lord can
by Jesus’ power stand up to anything.

II Cor 12:9 “And He said to me, “My grace is sufficient for you, for My strength is made perfect in weakness.” Therefore most gladly I will rather boast in my infirmities, that the power of Christ may rest upon me.”

I Thes 5:17, 18 “Pray without ceasing, for this is the will of God
in Christ Jesus, concerning you.”

 Good and Bad Angels….

Recently as we were doing our morning devotions we came across a great description of angels. As I thought about how our world portrays them today it struck me how much different real angels truly are. If you think about how our world pictures them you have images of fluffy little creatures that can be our pets or as cute little figurines on display in our living rooms and many other descriptions not found when you study actual angels in the one book that holds truth, the Bible. For you see our world thinks the truths of God are foolishness. We must see everything around us both visible and invisible as God sees them to truly understand.

I Cor 2:14 “But the natural man (unsaved) does not receive the things of the Spirit of God, for they are foolishness to him; nor can he know them, because they are spiritually discerned.”

Our study Bible provided the following examples of Angels. For more on angels do some studying by looking up the word angel in your Bible and where and how it is used in scripture. Notice the reactions most of the time when angels appeared. People were afraid of them because of their powerful structure and presence. The following are only a few of the verses found on angels.

Angels

  • There are both good and bad angels;
    • Rev 12:7
    • Because bad angels are allied with satan they have considerably less power and authority than good angels.
  • God sent angels to help certain people so they could understand the significance of what was happening to them.
    • Mat 2:13, Luke 1:11,26 Luke 2:9
  • Angels are spiritual beings created by God who help carry out His work on earth. They bring God’s messages to people;
    • Luke 1:26, Gen 19:1
  • They protect God’s people;
    • Daniel 6:22
  • Offer encouragement;
    • Gen 16:7
  • Give guidance;
    • Numbers 22:32, Exodus 14:19
  • Carry out punishment;
    • 2 Sam 24:16, Rev 7:1
  • Patrol the earth;
    • Zech 1:9-14
  • Fight the forces of evil;
    • 2 Kings 6:16-18, Rev 20:1,2
  • Eventually the main role of angels will be to offer continuous praise to God;
    • Rev 7:11,12

Remember these are but a few passages in scripture describing angelic beings and their purpose in the lives of mankind. The most important thing to remember is that we must weigh all earthly teachings with God’s word as our source of authority. If you feel God has provided an angel that has ministered to you remember to give the praise to the One who sent the helper!

John 8:32 “And you shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free.”

The Blessing in the Answer of, NO…

Isa 55:8 “For My thoughts are not your thoughts, nor are your ways My ways, declares the Lord.”
The Blessing in the answer of “NO”

I asked God to take away my pride.
God said “No”.
It is not for me to take away, but for you to give it up.

I asked God to make my handicapped child whole.
God said “No”.
Her spirit was whole, her body was only temporary.

I asked God to grant me patience.
God said “No”.
Patience is a byproduct of tribulations; it isn’t granted, it is learned.

I asked God to give me happiness.
God said “No”.
I give you blessings; happiness and contentment are up to you.

I asked God to spare me pain.
God said “No”.
Suffering draws you apart from worldly cares and brings you closer to me.

I asked God to make my spirit grow.
God said “No”.
You must grow on your own, but I will prune you to make you fruitful.

I asked for all things that I might enjoy life.
God said “No”.
I will give you life so that you may enjoy all things.

I asked God to help me LOVE others, as much as He loves me.
God said… Ahhhh, finally you have the idea!

What if,
GOD couldn’t take the time to bless us today because we couldn’t take the
time to thank HIM yesterday?

What if,
GOD decided to stop leading us tomorrow because we didn’t follow HIM today?

What if,
We never saw another flower bloom because we grumbled when GOD sent the rain?

What if,
GOD didn’t walk with us today because we failed to recognize it as His day?

What if,
GOD took away His message because we failed to listen to the messenger?

What if,
GOD didn’t send His only begotten Son because He wanted us to be
prepared to pay the price for sin?

What if,
The door of the church was closed because we did not open the door of our heart?

What if,
GOD stopped loving and caring for us because we failed to love and care for others?

What if,
GOD would not hear us today because we would not listen to Him yesterday?

What if,
GOD answered our prayers the way we answer His call to service?

What if,
GOD met our needs the way we give Him our lives???

What if, we fail to understand the meaning of this message?
Philip. 4:8 “Finally, brethren, whatsoever things are true, whatsoever things are honest, whatsoever things are just, whatsoever things are pure, whatsoever things are lovely, whatsoever things are of good report; if there be any virtue, and if there be any praise, think on these things.”

When I say, I am a Biblical CHRISTian…

Acts 11:26b “…And the disciples were first call Christians at Antioch.”

“When I Say, ‘I’m a Biblical CHRISTian'”

When I say, “I’m a Christian, Born Again,”
I’m not shouting, “I am saved”
I’m whispering, “I was lost”
“That’s why I chose this way.”

When I say, “I’m a Christian”
I don’t speak of this with pride
I’m confessing that I stumble
and need someone to be my guide.

When I say, “I’m a Christian”
I’m not trying to be strong
I’m professing that I’m weak
and pray for strength to carry on.

When I say, “I’m a Christian”
I’m not bragging of success
I’m admitting I have failed
and cannot ever pay the debt.

When I say, “I’m a Christian”
I’m not claiming to be perfect,
my flaws are all too visible
but God believes I’m worth it.

When I say, “I’m a Christian”
I still feel the sting of pain
I have my share of heartaches
which is why I seek His Name.

When I say, “I’m a Christian, Born Again,”
I do not wish to judge
I have no authority
I only know I’m loved.

To be a biblical CHRISTian you must…

John 3:3 “Jesus answered and said unto him, ‘Most assuredly I say to you,
unless one is born again, he cannot see the kingdom of God.”

Christianity as your Hobby…

Mat 4:19, 20 “And he saith unto them, Follow me, and I will make you fishers of men. And they straightway left their nets, and followed him.”
Christianity may be your Hobby!

Christianity as your Hobby!

“If the way you live your life as a Christian can be explained in terms of you, what have you to offer to the man who lives next door?

The way he lives his life can be explained in terms of him, and as far as he is concerned, you happen to be “religious”–but he is not! Christianity may be your hobby, but it is not his, and there is nothing about the way that you practice it which strikes him as at all remarkable.

There is nothing about you which leaves him guessing, and nothing commendable of which he does not feel himself equally capable without the inconvenience of becoming a Christian.

–Major Ian Thomas

So, do you see yourself this morning as a messenger of the Gospel to a lost world? Be honest with yourself. I many times have to answer no to that question when I am being brutally honest with myself. It is much easier to leave the witnessing to the “full time” workers and to those with the Spiritual Gift of Evangelist. That provides me with an out. Or so I think.

The problem with that is that Jesus has work for everyone in His church to do. One of those responsibilities is to be a witness who does so verbally. Somehow we feel that if we do not have the spiritual gift of evangelist or are not a full time church servant we are not obligated to be witnesses. That simply is not true. The spiritual gift of giving gives us the perfect example. All are to give to the financial work of Jesus church but some will have a much greater burden and responsibility to do so. But again all are accountable to do so. Witnessing or evangelism is the same. All “born again” believers have the responsibility to do so which takes away any excuse I try to use.

When I challenge myself with the knowledge that Jesus expects me to do so and I will someday give account of myself to my Savior I can only say, Lord please strengthen and use me for the purpose you have for me. So prayerfully CHRISTianity is not my hobby but my life.

Mat 28:19a “Go you therefore and make disciples of all nations….”
