Jesus is coming to earth a 2nd time….

Jesus is coming to earth a second time….

Jesus second coming will be a tragedy for the majority of mankind. As a result of their turning their backs on God’s free offer of salvation well over ½ of our world’s population will die during the 7 year period of tribulation that precedes Jesus second coming. The names of those who reject God’s offer of eternal life are choosing eternal death.  They do so by trusting in their faith in their church, their works or their families’ spiritual heritage to save them and because of that choice their names are not found in God’s book of eternal life.

In which book is your name written?

Rev 20:14, 15 “Then Death and Hades were cast into the lake of fire. This is the second death. And anyone not found written in the Book of Life was cast into the lake of fire.

Rev 21:8 “But the cowardly, unbelieving, abominable, murderers, sexually immoral, sorcerers, idolaters, and all liars shall have their part in the lake of fire which burns with fire and brimstone, which is the second death.”

The Way to escape that judgment is to recognize you are a sinner and cannot save yourself without accepting God’s offer of salvation;

Romans 3:23 “for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God,”

John 3:16 “For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whosoever believes in Him, should not perish, but have everlasting life.”

Acts 16:31 “Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ and you shall be saved you and your house.”

The next big event on the world’s calendar is not the end of the world. I think that theme is one of satan’s lies to down play the fact that Jesus will come a second time. Do not be deceived as many are. Check it out from our source of truth!

John 14:15-18 “If you love Me, keep my commandments. And I will pray the Father, and He will give you another Helper, that He may abide with you forever, even the Spirit of truth, whom the world cannot receive, because it neither sees Him nor knows Him, for He dwells with you and will be in you. I will not leave you orphans; I WILL COME TO YOU.”

Are you ready when Jesus returns?

I John 3:2,3 “Beloved, now we are the children of God; and it does not yet appear what we shall be, but we know that when HE SHALL COME, we shall be like Him, for we shall see Him as He is. And everyone who has this hope in him PURIFIES himself, just as He is pure.”

Where will your family and your friends end up? Maybe they need someone to share with them what Jesus has done for them………………!

Like father, like son, like grandson….

Like father, like son, like grandson………

Have you ever said to yourself either out loud or by your actions that what I do with my life only affects me? So I can do as I please with my life. We mistakenly think that we are only affecting one life by our actions. We forget that our lives affect many others around us. It is an awesome life changing truth when I accept that my life affects the values and lives of those around me. Noted below is God’s warning of just such an affect our lives have on those around us.

Exodus 34:7 “Keeping mercy for thousands, forgiving iniquity and transgression and sin, and that will by no means clear the guilty; visiting the iniquity of the fathers upon the children, and upon the children’s children, unto the third and to the fourth generation.”

Wow, my life can have that type of impact on my family. That stops you in your tracks and makes you think. In addition to that knowledge we must be aware that everything we do and yes even those things we think in secret we will give account of.

Heb 4:13 “And there is no creature hidden from His sight, but all things are naked and open to the eyes of Him to whom we must give account.”

Romans 14:12 “So then each of us shall give account of himself to God.”

So, today for my benefit and that of my family and that of those around me watching and learning from me I desire to live a Godly life and live as Jesus says;

Luke 9:23 “Then He said to them all, “If anyone desires to come after Me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross daily, and follow Me.”

It is never to late to seek forgiveness and make changes….

1 John 1:9 “If we confess our sins, He is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.”

Mud Puddles and Dandelions…

Mat 18:2, 3 “And Jesus called a little child to Him, set him in the midst of them and said, “Assuredly, I say to you, unless you are converted and become as little children you will by no means enter the Kingdom of heaven.’ “

Mud Puddles and Dandelions!

When I look at a patch of dandelions, I see a bunch of weeds that are going to take over my yard. My kids see flowers for Mom and blowing white fluff you can wish on.

When I look at an old drunk and he smiles at me, I see a smelly, dirty person who probably wants money and I look away. My kids see someone smiling at them and they smile back.

When I hear music I love, I know I can’t carry a tune and don’t have much rhythm so I sit self-consciously and listen. My kids feel the beat and move to it. They sing out the words. If they don’t know them, they make up their own.

When I feel wind on my face, I brace myself against it. I feel it messing up my hair and pulling me back when I walk. My kids close their eyes, spread their arms and fly with it, until they fall to the ground laughing.

When I pray, I say thee and thou and grant me this, give me that. My kids say, “Hi God!

Thanks for my toys and my friends. Please keep the bad dreams away tonight. Sorry, I don’t want to go to Heaven yet. I would miss my Mommy and Daddy.”

When I see a mud puddle I step around it. I see muddy shoes and dirty carpets. My kids sit in it. They see dams to build, rivers to cross and worms to play with.

I wonder if we are given kids to teach or to learn from. No wonder God loves the little children!!

“Enjoy the little things in life, for one day you may look back and realize they were the big things.”

I wish you mud puddles and dandelions!

When people think of what they must do to reach heaven, some see Church affiliation, their deeds, their prayers etc. Kids take God at His word figuring He means what He says.

And He said;

Eph 2:8, 9 “For by grace are you saved through faith, and that not of yourselves, it is the gift of God, not of works, lest anyone would boast.”

John 14:6 “And Jesus said to him, I am the Way and the Truth and the Life; no one comes to the Father except by Me.”

Mat 18:3b “…and become as little children you will by no means enter the Kingdom of heaven.”

What do you see…….?

Using God’s name….

II Cor 6:17 “Come out from among them and be ye separate, says the Lord,
Do not touch what is unclean, and I will receive you.”

Using God’s name…

God said: It needs to bother you.

I said: What?

The language.

What language?

Case in point. You haven’t even noticed.

I’m not tracking with You. Notice what?

My name’s being taken in vain.

Oh, that. Well God, to be honest with You…
I’ve kind of gotten used to it.

Used to it?

Well, yeah. My environment is filled with conversations echoing Your name. Not only
that, but it’s pretty much a smorgasbord of four-letter options, too.

And that doesn’t affect you?

Nah. Like I said, I’m used to it.

That’s the problem.

Whaddya mean?

I don’t want you to get used to it.

But I hear that stuff all the time. TV’s full of it. Every sitcom I watch tosses Your name around. Can we get personal? Is it really that big of a deal?

Apparently you don’t realize the severity of this.

Every single time someone says, “Oh, my God!” they’re breaking one of My 10 commandments: “Thou shalt not take the name of the Lord Thy God in vain.”

Yeah, but…

Doing something I’ve specifically spoken against is a big deal. Can you see why the only name given to men down through the ages to be used in vain is the name of My Son, the name above all names, and name that all will bow to?

Using My name in vain is sin!

But not real sin. Right?

Excuse me?

I always thought sin was like…You know…murdering someone or stealing something.

Sin is anything that goes against what I’ve commanded and anytime you know what to do but do not do it.

(James 4:17 “Therefore, to him who knows to do good and does not do it, to him it is sin.”)

But Father, practically everyone says stuff like, “Oh, God.”

Most people are not going to heaven.

(Mat 7:13, 14 “Enter by the narrow gate; for wide is the gate and broad is the way that leads to destruction, and there are many who go in by it. Because narrow is the gate and difficult is the way which leads to life, and there are few who find it.”)

Well, I don’t say it. Well, okay, maybe once…twice max.

But you’ve gotten comfortable with hearing it. That’s just as bad.

Well, I…

My child, I don’t want you to get comfortable living in this world and hearing what goes on around you. You see, this world really isn’t your home. Think of it as sort of a holding tank. Your real home is in heaven with Me. And the splendor of it is beyond your capability of human understanding.

I know, God. And I’m looking forward to that.

If you love Me, you will turn from your sin. And using My name in such a disrespectful manner is sin. And you will be salt is a world that needs to know sin is sin.

Wow. I didn’t realize.

You can’t help living in this world I’ve placed you in. But you can choose not to be a part of it.

How do I do that?

By refusing to get comfortable.

I realize there are things you can’t help but hear, but that doesn’t mean you should become accustomed to hearing them. I want your stomach to bunch up in knots when you hear My name used in the wrong way. I want you to feel uncomfortable when people around you share coarse jokes and brag about their sexual escapades. I want you to turn around and walk away when you hear or see sin. Or I want you to in a loving fashion call sin for what it is. I want you to change the channel when the programming is of this world. You are being subtlety programmed to accept sin as normal by the enemy. Do not let it happen. Be the salt of the earth for My sake.

That will take a conscious effort, Father.

But, do You think if I could get into the habit of doing it, it would become almost as natural as breathing?

You’re catching on.

It will be hard.

You won’t be alone.

(Hebrews 13:5b “For He Himself has said, “I will never leave you nor forsake you”)

People will probably laugh at me when I refuse to listen to their suggestive conversations.

I will respect you.

It would be easier if I had an example.

You know, someone else who has already taken a stand.
Study My Son’s life.

Oh yeah!

And read Hebrew chapter 11. It’s FULL of people who took a stand.

Yeah, but some of them were killed for their beliefs.

That’s what Christianity’s all about.

Yes. My true disciples are the ones who have died to living their own lives. They’ve given up control. They’ve become putty in My hands, and they’re letting Me reshape and remold them in My image.

And I guess that’s what You want me to do?

I want you to not be ashamed when you spend eternity with Me in heaven, and I need you to die to your own selfish habits, your coarse language, your plans for the future, your selfishness–even to your rights.

But, God…

And guess what?

When you do…You’ll start to become very uncomfortable with the world around you. And that is good…………….

Galatians 2:20″I have been crucified with Christ; and I myself no longer live, but Christ lives in me.”

John 14: 1-3 “Do not let your hearts be troubled. Trust in God; trust also in me. In my Father’s house are many rooms; if it were not so, I would have told you. I am going there to prepare a place for you. And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come back and take you to be with me that you also may be where I am.”

Are you Committed…

Are you Committed!

The past cannot be changed but the future can.  The things we regret having done or regret having said remain with us and with those we have offended. While they should be our reminder of what not to do they should not keep us from doing what is right for the future.

Phil 3:13, 14 “Brethren I count not myself to have apprehended: But this one thing I do, forgetting those things which are behind, and reaching forth unto those things which are ahead.  I press toward the mark for the prize of the high calling of God in Christ Jesus.”

Phil 4:1 “Therefore my brethren … stand fast in the Lord…”

Life’s biggest change comes when we believe in Jesus as our Lord and Savior and the second biggest change when we commit our life to His service.

Luke 9:23 “And he said unto all, If any man would come after me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross daily, and follow me.”

Have you accepted His gift of salvation through the sacrifice of the cross so you can stand fast??

Eph 2:8, 9 “For by grace you have been saved through faith and THAT NOT OF YOURSELVES, it is the gift of God, not of works, lest anyone would boast.”

Have you committed your life to Him? It is never too late……………….

Romans 12:1 “I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that you PRESENT your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable to God, which is your reasonable service.”

Many ‘born again’ believers have never made that presentation. Have you?

JESUS is Coming Again….

No one knows when Jesus will return a second time, but one thing is for sure!

Jesus is coming a 2nd time…..

Are you ready?????? And when will He return?

Acts 1:7,8 “And He said to them, ‘It is not for you to know the times or seasons the Father has put in His own authority, but you shall receive power when the Holy Spirit comes upon you; And you shall be witnesses to Me in Jerusalem and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the ends of the earth.'”

Jesus’ disciples were concerned when He told them He would leave them so listen to what He said about His return and the only way to get to Heaven.

John 14:1-6 “”Let not your heart be troubled; you believe in God, believe also in Me. In My Father’s house are many mansions; if it were not so, I would have told you. I go to prepare a place for you. And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again and receive you to Myself; that where I am, there you may be also. And where I go you know, and the way you know.” Thomas said to Him, “Lord, we do not know where You are going, and how can we know the way?” Jesus said to him, “I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through Me.”

Until then as born again believers, our marching orders are!

Luke 9:23 “ Then He said to them all, “If anyone desires to come after Me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross daily, and follow Me.”

Mat 28:19,20 “Go you therefore and make disciples in every nation, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you, and lo I am with you always, even until the end of the world.”

If you are not sure you have been born again can I suggest you read the third chapter of the gospel of John and the following verses, Romans 3:23, 6:23, 5:8, Titus 3:5, Ephesians 2:8,9 and Acts 16:31, Romans 10:13. You do not want Jesus returning without knowing where you will spend eternity and just how Jesus will usher in the judgments those who have rejected Him are in for. At that point of time it will be too late to change your mind.  And remember the church you attend or the family you are a part of or the life you live does not assure you of being ‘born again’.

Have a great day and challenge yourself with the above question. And ask if Jesus wants you and I to be a little bolder in proclaiming the Gospel and His second coming. I think the answer is a loud yes. You will never be sorry for presenting or giving your life to the King of Kings and Lord of Lords, Jesus!!!!!!!

Judging and the Bursted Bubble….

Mat 7:3 “And why do you look at the speck in your brother’s eye, but do not consider the plank in your own eye?”

We’ve all been guilty of looking at others our own age and thinking…surely I cannot look that old………I’m sure you’ve done the same……You may enjoy this short story….

Judging and the Bursted Bubble

While waiting for my first appointment in the reception room of a new dentist, I noticed his certificate, which bore his full name.

Suddenly, I remembered that a tall, handsome boy with the same name had been in my high school class some 40 years ago.

Upon seeing him, however, I quickly discarded any such thought. This balding, gray- haired man with the deeply lined face was too old to have been my classmate.

After he had examined my teeth, I asked him if he had attended the local high school.

“Yes,” he replied.

“When did you graduate?” I asked.

He answered, “In 1957.”

“Why, you were in my class!” I exclaimed.

He looked at me closely and then asked, “What did you teach?”

Mat 7:1 “Judge not that you be not judged.”
