By what strength do I run…..

By what strength do I run…..

So by what Strength are you dependent on this morning? Each day everyone of us depends on someone or something for strength and guidance for our day.

The events of our life often sway our commitment as we allow them to guide us. We do have One perfect example to live by if we choose to. Jesus was never swayed from His mission of the cross. And of the most importance is the fact that Jesus mission in life was a direct result of His unconditional love for us and our inability to remove our own sins. His strength was from His Father and the fact that He as God the Son set those attributes aside for a moment to save us.

In the following verse we see one of His servants who patterned his life after his Savior and by the power of the Holy Spirit was able to stay the course throughout his life. I would desire to do the same and if you are ‘born again’ you have that same source of strength and opportunity.

Acts 20:24 “But none of these things move me, neither count I my life dear unto myself, so that I might finish my course with joy, and the ministry which I have received of the Lord Jesus, to testify the Gospel of the grace of God.”

Paul walked by the power of Jesus, not the power of Paul! How is your commitment this morning??

In who’s strength will you walk today? Think on the following verse before tackling the challenges of the day! And remember God would like to perform much through our lives but it will be in line with His will and not our fleshly desires. And is totally dependent on our seeking Him.

Phil 4:13 “I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me.”

Our most perfect example is…..

Luke 22:42 “Coming out, He went to the Mount of Olives, as He was accustomed, and His disciples also followed Him. 40 When He came to the place, He said to them, “Pray that you may not enter into temptation.” 41 And He was withdrawn from them about a stone’s throw, and He knelt down and prayed, 42 saying, “Father, if it is Your will, take this cup away from Me; nevertheless not My will, but Yours, be done.”

Jesus blood can cleanse me…..

Jesus blood can cleanse me…..

Is there any sin in your life?

I know that is a concept you do not hear much of today but it is still active and sin still destroys our relationship with God. A Holy God cannot communicate with sinful people.

Jesus blood can cleanse the vilest of sinners and restore that lost fellowship.

Sin is also still active in your life if you are a believer so do not be deceived in thinking it no longer threatens you because you are ‘born again’.

But be of good cheer…

I John 1:9 “If we confess our sins He is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.”

Isaiah 1:18 “Come, let us talk this over, says the Lord: no matter how deep the stain of your sins, I can take it out and make you as clean as freshly fallen snow.

No amount of works or prayers can cleanse you.

Acts 13:39 “And by Him all that believe are justified from all things, from which you could not be justified by the law...”

But Jesus can!!!!!!!!

II Cor 5:21 “For He has made Him to be sin for us, who knew no sin, that we might be made the righteousness of God, in Him.”

Heb 9:22-28 “And according to the law almost all things are purified with blood, and without shedding of blood there is no remission. Therefore it was necessary that the copies of the things in the heavens should be purified with these, but the heavenly things themselves with better sacrifices than these. For Christ has not entered the holy places made with hands, which are copies of the true, but into heaven itself, now to appear in the presence of God for us; not that He should offer Himself often, as the high priest enters the Most Holy Place every year with blood of another– He then would have had to suffer often since the foundation of the world; but now, once at the end of the ages, He has appeared to put away sin by the sacrifice of Himself. And as it is appointed for men to die once, but after this the judgment, so Christ was offered once to bear the sins of many. To those who eagerly wait for Him He will appear a second time, apart from sin, for salvation.”
