Which Wisdom to Seek! #5

Walking by your feelings….

It’s feels right so it must be the right thing to do…

Which Truth or Wisdom will you seek?

The wisdom of this world vs the wisdom of God|||

World = Quiet your mind and let your inner feelings and instincts be your guide. If it feels good it must be good. So, do it…..

God = Be careful in trusting your inner feelings because your fleshly nature is inherently sinful . Trust in God, He is your one source of truth and peace. Ask yourself if those feelings have biblical basis. Search God’s word for support or denial of those feelings. If they do have biblical support and after much prayer then they act.

Proverbs 3:5 “Lean not upon your own understanding but on every word that comes from God.”

Gal 5:16,17 “I say then: Walk in the Spirit, and you shall not fulfill the lust of the flesh. For the flesh lusts against the Spirit, and the Spirit against the flesh; and these are contrary to one another, so that you do not do the things that you wish.”

Only God the Holy Spirit can lead us to truth, peace and a fulfilled life.

John 16:13 “However, when He the Spirit of truth, has come, He will guide you into all truth…”

So does everyone have the Holy Spirit? Without Jesus as our Savior we do not have the Spirit of God and thus will not have access to His truth. Which explains the philosophies of our day.

I Cor 2:14 “But the natural man (unsaved persons) receiveth not the things of the Spirit of God: for they are foolishness unto him: neither can he know them, because they are spiritually discerned. ”

Rom 8:9 “…if indeed the Spirit of God dwells in you, but if anyone does not have the Spirit of Christ, he does not belong to Him.”

One last thought. The philosophies of this world are not truths at all! They are fleshly desires and dangerous.

Have a great serving the Lord of truth, Jesus!!!!!!!!!!!

Which Wisdom to seek!
There is more than one author of wisdom. Or at least to what we think is wisdom. And we all crave wisdom so we can feel the satisfaction of knowing what to do, when to do it and how to do it.

Do you need wisdom to live a happy life?

Over the next few days let’s look at what God’s word says on obtaining wisdom.

Each of us choose a source of wisdom either knowingly or unknowingly. Look for which source one you are obtaining your wisdom from. Each source of wisdom represents where we place our priorities and where we place our strength, finances and well being. It can be very enlightening and hopefully life changing if necessary.

Worldly wisdom vs Godly wisdom.

What do each say about Knowledge;

World = Knowledge is obtained by education, experience and imitating the rich and famous of this world. Knowledge makes me who I am.

God = Knowledge comes from education and experience but must be accompanying with and by God’s truths to be lasting and meaningful. If we do not have God’s wisdom to use it, it is useless in furthering the kingdom of God and useless for our lives.
Knowledge and Wisdom that is valuable for your life can only come from God as He is shaping it in your life.

Psalm 1:1a “Blessed is the man that walks not in the counsel of the ungodly…”

Proverbs 8:35,36 a “Wisdom. For whoever finds Me finds life, and obtains favor from the Lord; And he who sins against Me wrongs his soul … ”

James 1:5,6 “If any of you lacks wisdom, let him ask of God, who gives to all liberally and without reproach, and it will be given to him. But let him ask in faith, with no doubting, for he who doubts is like a wave of the sea driven and tossed by the wind.”

Proverbs 9:10-12 “The fear of the LORD is the beginning of wisdom, And the knowledge of the Holy One is understanding. For by me your days will be multiplied, And years of life will be added to you. If you are wise, you are wise for yourself, And if you scoff, you will bear it alone.”

So, how are you using your knowledge this morning. For His glory or your own?

Proverbs 1:7 “The fear of Jehovah is the beginning of knowledge; But the foolish despise wisdom and instruction.”
